Sometimes I don’t blog because it isn’t anything that I find interesting to others. But then I remember that (mostly) my blog is for ME! And like reading old diaries, I get a kick out of seeing what I was up to at _____ point in time.
So… here’s what we’ve been up to lately.
Our family and everyone else suffering from Winter is thrilled that Spring is around the corner. It’s a total game changer getting out and enjoying the day vs being trapped inside. Beck loves the park, strolling around town, and playing in (and trying to eat) sand, dirt and leaves.

total cheeser
Clay and I have been SUPER incredibly busy (Clay mainly) with house renovations. Some of you may know we sold our house at the end of the Summer (a post for another time) and we are now doing some renovations to a DIFFERENT house (a post for another time…) So when he isn’t at work-work, he is working like crazy to try to finish a trillion other projects.
We DID recently make time for a date night to the Alamo Drafthouse (one of our favorites) to see Game Night. Whoa! Not what I was expecting! Who has seen it? We both loved it. I admittedly went because I love Rachel McAdams but I was kind of expecting the movie to be lame. It wasn’t. Highly recommend! Also, you can never beat the food and drink selection. We went a little overboard and had some delicious cocktails, dinner AND dessert. Well worth it.
Beck updates: I can’t type this without getting teary… our tiny baby is almost ONE YEAR OLD. And he’s so NOT tiny anymore (read: my back is going to break soon). Ugh. Everything “they” say is right. The days are long but the years are short. This year has FLOWN by. Beck is curious and hilarious. He is very in tune with what is going on around him. He will imitate almost anything you do – and SOME of the things you say. He says “whuss dah?” (what’s that) TO EVERYTHING from the moment his little eyes pop open until he lays his head down at night. He loves saying DaDa and is also finally started saying Mama a little more.
He JUST started feeding himself food on his own which has morphed into him putting virtually everything he can find in his mouth. I may have went crazy mom status the other day at the park while frantically digging a sizeable rock out of his mouth. Yikes. Can’t look away. Not for one second.
I am still loving being a stay at home mom. I feel like we are finally getting into a groove. We have a great routine and Clay is amazing at helping me carve out time for my Jazzercise classes (which are essential for the mom brain). As the days get warmer, I know we will be spending more and more time outside – and hopefully adding more play dates and other activities!
As a family, we are looking forward to moving again soon (fingers crossed), Beck’s 1st birthday party, and continuing to watch him grow!
Now… it’s after 7 pm and that means it’s time to relax with a glass of wine and whatever Netflix series I feel calling me next!
